The STIHL ROLLOMATIC® ES Light guide bar has up to 30% less weight in comparison with STIHL ROLLOMATIC® E Super guide bars. In order to reduce weight; long channels are milled out of the center of a solid guide bar, then a thin steel plate of the same steel is welded over the channels using a special laser welding process. The reduced weight helps decrease operator fatigue, especially on longer bars. A replaceable sprocket nose assembly is also incorporated in the nose of the bar that carries the saw chain from the top to the bottom of the bar. This not only reduces wear, but also enables the bar nose to be made considerably narrower. All STIHL ROLLOMATIC® bars designed with a narrow nose help reduce kickback tendencies. And the sprocket nose assembly can be replaced several times before the whole bar is due for replacement, increasing the guide bar’s service life.

Applications: For high-performance woodcutting with larger displacement professional STIHL chainsaws.

STIHL recommends using low-kickback, green-labeled chain and green-labeled reduced-kickback bars on all powerheads.

Note: The actual listed guide bar length can vary from the effective cutting length depending upon which powerhead it is installed.

impressive 500i

This thing is a beast. as much power as an Stihl 880 Magnum in a 14 pound package. FI simplifies cold and warm starting but hot start has been a problem. Ripsaw said to let it idle for 10-15 seconds before shutting it off. seems to work but only tried once. Fully satisfied with the unit. My only complaints are administrative. First, a bar was shipped separately and got lost, then it took several days after "Ship Notice" for the unit to move, then there was more back & forth with bars & I wound up buying both in-flight bars to end the hassle. Also, I asked for any take-off parts to be returned with the saw but I was then charged $5 to have the compression relief valve sent to me. Stuff happens, usually to me, and I would do business again. I needed the saw and had to pay a lot extra for rush, but I mostly gave "only" 4 stars because the cost is so high. great saw so far.

Bar and chain upgrade

Did my Stihl 261c a solid and upgraded the bar and chain. Excellent choice in Ripsaw they know their saws!
